HOW LOVE KEPT JACKIE GOING

Imagery of Jackie wearing her blood-stained Chanel suit to bravely front media following JFK’s death are etched in our minds. Yet it was her devotion to their two children, Caroline and John Jr, that those closest to Jackie regard as her defining moment in life.

staff wept as they assisted the now single mother, but Jackie, then just 34, didn’t shed a tear.
