As the loving mother of two teenage girls, Julia Morris knows how important it is to give kids enough space to spread their wings.

So, after a month of working alongside Robert Irwin on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, sources say the popular host was “perplexed” by the presence of his doting mother, Terri, on the jungle set.

Terri, 59, accompanied her 20-year-old son to South Africa for filming, prompting some to whisper about her possible ‘helicopter parenting’ style.

Indeed, the Daily Mail Australia published a story last week in which a production member described Terri’s presence on the show as “it’s giving ‘bringing-your-mum-to school-camp vibes’.”

New Idea’s own well-placed source adds, “It was like Robert couldn’t do anything without Terri being there.”
