Although the thrice-divorced actor still hopes to find lasting romance, New Idea hears Tom is preoccupied with securing a new A-list female face for his Scientology religion. At the top of his wish list are Priscilla Presley and Cher.

The church, founded in 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard, has long come under fire for its treatment of members, yet Tom remains a committed practitioner.

It has attracted some big stars over the years, including John Travolta and Elisabeth Moss, but recent headline-making scandals have put the organisation on the nose. These include the defection of Leah Remini, and the rape conviction of ardent follower Danny Masterson.
