THE WHITELEY RESIDENCES
London, UK
One of the most exciting new projects in central London is the major £3bn (RM15.99bn) regeneration of multi-cultural Bayswater. Flanked by Kensington Gardens and Palace, the district is situated within a prestigious neighbourhood surrounded by Notting Hill, Hyde Park, Westbourne Grove and Knightsbridge. On top of new buildings, this plan will also encompass the restoration of heritage buildings, upgrading of the public realm, re-greening of the streetscape, and improvements to both Queensway and Bayswater Underground stations. At the heart of it is The Whiteley London, which is slated to be a mixed-use development with a contemporary luxury tone. The building, which was a historic Victorian-era mall that opened in 1911, will offer 139 high-specif ication residences, 20 new stores and restaurants, a cinema, a state-of-the-art gym and the UK’s first Six Senses hotel and spa. This Norman Foster-designed property will complete in late 2023.
Inspired by the restoration of the original century-old facade, all the apartments in The Whiteley Residences will be f looded with natural light thanks to the soaring ceiling heights, while their spacious interiors will flaunt the sophisticated elegance and fine craftsmanship developer Finchatton is renowned for.
The homes include studios of 418 to 730 sq ft, one-bedders all the way to five-bedroom units from 5,665 sq ft, and penthouses of 3,588 to 9,256 sq ft. Every layout is different, with 89 units featuring outdoor terraces. Residents enjoy the services of a director of residences and an on-site team. Amenities include a private reception, library, club room, music room, children’s play area, a sports hall for ball games, and underground parking.
