Not all 21st birthdays are celebrated in style, but with the Polo Collection welcoming the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition into the family, it had to be one for the books.

In the grand arena of fine spirits, a new contender gallops onto the field, ready to make its mark with unparalleled finesse. We head to the effortlessly gorgeous One&Only Desaru Coast to celebrate the addition of the sixth member to the Polo Collection by Royal Salute—the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition. Perfectly encapsulating Miami lifestyle vibes from the bubble gum pink flagon to the emblazoned insignia of two Polo players front-and-centre, a trip to celebrate the Miami Polo Edition gave us a taste of Vice City that left us craving for more.

Immersing us into the world of a Miamian from the get-go, we drive from KL’s morning traffic to the lush tropics of Johor’s One&Only Desaru Coast in the new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450. Our carriage for the day drove like a dream. The four-hour drive melted away into short naps, raucous chatter, and a short coffee break. The closer we got to One&Only Desaru Coast was obvious as winding routes amid sequestered greenery opened to the minimalistic entrance of the resort.

RIGHT OF WAY

A quiet luxury is what greets you at the One&Only. After a quick lunch at Ambara, we were allowed the option to either rest easy until the evening’s festivities or to explore the premises. We chose the latter.
