Oh no, not another wellness guide. If that’s what you’re thinking, to be honest, I get it. There are a plethora of salons, spas, wellness centres, aesthetic clinics, and gyms of various themes and specialities peppered throughout the city. Really, you’re spoiled for choice. A little promenade along the Telawi streets of Bangsar alone will leave you with more options than your fingers and toes can count. But sometimes, having too many options may also leave you in a bit of a quandary—which spa/gym/salon do you pick?
Fret not, I’ve done the work for you. After having spent years of my past life as a Beauty Editor, I realise that the best studios and salons are those whose Founders truly live and breathe the ethos of the lifestyles they’re trying to encourage for their own clients. Well, for me, at least. So, I speak with some vibrant and entrepreneurial individuals in the wellness scene about their new(ish) cocoons of wellness and what their must-try rituals are. Of course, they share their own pearls of wellness wisdom too.
FOR YOUR BODY Where:
Mimone Spa TTDI 120, Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 60000 KL
What: Just Wet
Why: Having been to the other Mimone destinations, this one in TTDI immediately stands out as their flagship, with multiple levels offering myriad spa opportunities. No lie—I’m looking for any excuse to throw a spa party now. Anyway, the ritual begins with 30 minutes in an infrared sauna; which gets me soaked rather than wet. In just the first few minutes, I’m sweating like a sinner in church, but the beauty of the infrared tech is that the box doesn’t at all feel stuffy.
