URWERK
The vibrant purple shade of Urwerk's UR-100V UltraViolet immediately captures attention and holds it further until your gaze is diverted to its three-satellite time display. Of the three hands, the one that actively displays the time will vanish at the 60-minute mark before promptly reappearing as a kilometre counter to represent the 555km one would travel every 20 minutes when standing on Earth's equator. The second hand will then appear at the zero mark to indicate a new hour, while the third hand can be found tracing the 20-minute scale that tracks orbital distance. Beating under a sapphire crystal dome in a 41mm case executed in violet DLC on sanded shot-blasted titanium and fitted with a textured rubber strap - is the self-winding UR 12.02 movement governed by a bidirectional rotor regulated by a Windfänger airscrew.
BULGARI
The maison shows its prowess in the art of jewellery watches with this Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon. A beguiling contrast between light and shade, its 34mm white gold case is set entirely with scintillating diamonds, while its bezel captivates with black spinels. The curved, supple and extremely comfortable bracelet exemplifies Bulgari's unique expertise in this area, artfully channelling the serpent in an entrancing mesh pattern alternating between paved brilliant-cut diamonds and baguette-cut black spinels. The 3.65mm-slim BVL 150 manual winding movement powering the timepiece is a tailor-made miniature calibre designed to the nearest millimetre in order to be housed in the snake-head case. Blending perfectly with the precious setting is the tourbillon, whose beauty can be admired at 6 o'clock.
