Three years ago, Louis Vuitton launched Pur Oud, an oud-centred scent containing an exceptionally high, 10 per cent concentration of the powerful, earthy ingredient. Conceptualised by the house's master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, its unusual composition allows users to layer it with other fragrances and design their own olfactory signature, augmented by the warmth and depth of oud. Following the success of Pur Oud, Cavallier-Belletrud decided to create a collection, Les Parfums Purs, which includes two other scents that highlight key perfumery ingredients. Featuring a fragrance concentration of 40 per cent double that of your standard eau de parfum - Pur Ambre and Pur Santal feature dominant notes of sensual ambergris and aromatic sandalwood, respectively.
