At first glance, it might seem like just another leafy Kamala community along Phuket's picturesque coastline. However, hidden from the road, nestled among the hills and lush green foliage, lie some of the island's most exclusive and luxurious villas, in a neighbourhood so wealthy it's simply known by its nickname: Millionaire's Mile.

Much like New York has its Upper East Side, London has Chelsea, and Hong Kong has The Peak, many major locales around the globe boast a prestigious area that draws in the elite. And Phuket is no different, with its most exclusive address being an upmarket region located on the island's western coast. This Millionaire's Mile is characterised by expansive luxury villas and homes perched atop verdant hilltops, offering breathtaking views of the crystal-clear waters of the Andaman Sea below. It’s an idyllic destination in southern Thailand that is especially appealing to affluent individuals seeking a serene environment away from the crowds. And since the west coast of Phuket is also home to Kamala Beach, this popular 2km stretch of sand serves as the backdrop for Millionaire's Mile.

Situated on the Kamala headland, between Kamala Beach to the north and Patong to the south, is a winding road that spans a few kilometres, with several scenic twists and turns, and the drive from one end to the other takes roughly 20 minutes. Thanks to its quieter coastal location, Millionaire's Mile offers a unique blend of tranquillity and accessibility, all while remaining close to the island's key attractions.

As folklore (or Internet gossip) would have it, the very first million-dollar villa on the island was built here. And it is easy to see why. Positioned atop a cliff, this neighbourhood offers awe-inspiring sunset views, widely regarded as the finest on the island. From these elevated vantage points, the panoramic vistas over the ocean create an undeniable sense of peace.
