The rumours are true: Benjamin Kheng is instantly likeable. Upon arriving at the scene of our November digital cover shoot, the multi-hyphenate makes his way through a labyrinth of lamp stands and bags of clothing samples a guitar on his back, no less - to give the crew a big smile and a wave.
An hour of prep later, he jaunts on set, ready and raring to go. He sports a cropped turtleneck and baggy grey suit from Onitsuka Tiger, and a pair of Tweed Series Bit Loafers from its luxury arm, The Onitsuka. It's a look that is refined and youthful, but with a twist - and as expected, Benjamin pulls it off with ease. He's game to try anything we ask him to do for the camera, including a move I can only describe as a sideways high-knee shuffle. (Thankfully, the Tweed Series Bit Loafers, handcrafted by Japanese artisans with thick, durable "shark" soles and The Onitsuka's trademarked aGEL Foam for extra comfort and shock absorbency, is fully equipped for his moves.)
Benjamin was among a select group of local personalities who attended Onitsuka Tiger's Spring/Summer 2025 show at Milan Fashion Week in September. Speaking about his affinity with the brand, and The Onitsuka, he says, "I love the textures and fluidity of The Onitsuka, I love the monochromatic looks - I feel that it speaks to me and my style now. I also love the functionality and the fierceness of Onitsuka Tiger and what it does. I feel both resonate with me in different ways. There are many shapes to people, right? It's nice that there is one umbrella that caters to both."
