Big brands are soon to announce smaller, affordable electric cars
In the world of EVs, the SUV is king, but there is a growing number of smaller, more affordable electric cars on their way. This is something drivers are crying out for, as the average price of a new car in the UK now stands at a massive £48,000.
EV DOES IT: IT'S THE SMALL EV REVOLUTION

Small cars are better for the environment, owing to being made from fewer raw materials and requiring less energy to start, move and stop. They are also easier to drive and park in congested cities, have smaller batteries, a lower overall weight, and are usually more entertaining to drive. Plus, they’re usually much cheaper to buy.

The Volkswagen ID.2all is a compact, affordable and long-range EV, or as VW describes it, ‘as spacious as a Golf and as inexpensive as a Polo’. This new EV’s entry price is ¤25,000, or around £22,000. That makes it cheaper than the likes of the Mini Electric, the Renault Zoe and Fiat 500e, and yet with better range and more space.
