SWATI MALIWAL is a prominent Indian social activist and the current chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women DCW). Born on January 13, 1984, in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Maliwal has dedicated her life to advocating for women's rights and fighting against gender-based violence.

Swati Maliwal's journey into activism began at a young age when she witnessed the harsh realities of gender inequality and discrimination. She pursued a degree in journalism from the University of Delhi and subsequently worked as a journalist, where she gained insights into the struggles faced by women in Indian society. This experience fueled her determination to bring about positive change.

In 2013, Swati Maliwal founded the NGO called Raksha," which aimed at empowering women and providing support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Her relentless efforts caught the attention of political leaders, and in 2015, she was appointed as the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women.
