Reiki is an energy healing modality that was founded in Japan in the early 1900s. The Japanese terms “Rei” and “Ki” translate directly as “Universal” and “Life-Energy” respectively. Komathy GanesanMogan describes reiki as an ancient technology for fine-tuning the physical and etheric bodies to a high vibratory level. This enables one to channel universal life force via their palms for personal healing, healing of others, and even situations. The reiki practice is passed down through a lineage of masters via a unique attunement process that allows practitioners to channel a large flow of the reiki life force.
Komathy has 28 years of experience as a reiki practitioner and is also trained in neuro-linguistic programming and hypnotherapy. Working with reiki all these years, Komathy says, has brought immense transformation to her life and heightened her spiritual connection, allowing her to learn what it means to become one with a universal life force. “Reiki practitioners are trained to use intention for healing purposes, whether for ourselves or others. Intentions are a primary pillar in the practice of reiki,” she says.
“Manifestation is the act of bringing into reality the intentions that you have set for yourself or others. Intentions come first, and it is a highly creative process,” she adds. An affirmation, on the other hand, is a positive and empowering statement used as part of the language and diction of your intention. Komathy gives us some affirmations that she likes to use: “Peace begins with me,” “I choose to be happy today,” and “I attract only healthy relationships.”
