WHAT WE ARE TESTING THIS month from the Japanese carmaker's portfolio is a unicorn - exactly, what I felt when I was behind the wheel of the Lexus RC F. I know it has been launched long back discreetly, but the V8 mammoth is just like a unicorn on the roads. There are just two units available across the country, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on one. My first drive impressions are here to help you. Let me warn you, before we start, that I am in awe of this nat-asp V8, and I will try my best not to be biased at all (Wink!)
DESIGN
The Lexus RC F that we tested came in an orange and carbon fibre colour scheme. Based on the Lexus' RC coupe platform, the RC F retains identical bits from the LFA. Take a first glance at it and you notice the neatly integrated signature spindle grille. The grille isn't bulged out like the other stablemates in the Lexus portfolio but is well aligned and proportionate up front. Complementing this is a three-pot LED headlamp setup with a DRL strip underlining it. Down below is a well-sculpted bumper housing air vents on either side and air dams below the sportier grille. Isn't that all making this Lexus a bit too aggressive?
A hooligan, to say the least. Move to the sides, and you notice the tall 19-inch tire setup with a ten-spoke design. Just look a bit above it and you notice a bold 'F' lettering on the fenders. Behind these fenders are the vertical air ducts making the RC F look a bit wider.
