GOING BACK-TO-BACK

ACHIEVING back-to-back promotions is no mean feat but there are those who have accomplished it. Perhaps others will be in the running to do it this season. Notts County and Wrexham are among the favourites to gain promotion to League One, Stevenage may fancy a dart at reaching the Championship and Ipswich are looking good for a tilt at promotion to the top-flight.

They may be able to take inspiration from the following:

Crawley Town 2010-12 (National League to League One)

Starting with back-to-back promotions from the National League to League One, Crawley Town had plenty of eyes on them during this time frame. They were promoted in 2011 from the old Conference after seven consecutive seasons, losing only three games all season.

Summer addition Matt Tubbs scored a staggering 40 goals with the Red Devils under the tutelage of Steve Evans, who looks to have a knack for propelling teams up the Football League with his current success at Stevenage.

Richard Brodie joined from York City for a Non-League record fee, with Crawley labelled the 'Manchester City' of Non-League football at this time due to their significant financial backing from foreign investors.

In 2010-11, there was also a memorable FA Cup run, with Crawley reaching the fifth round, eventually losing to Manchester United by a narrow 1-0 scoreline at Old Trafford.
