The sale of midfielder Jamie Jellis to Tamworth’s midlands neighbours in January 2024 had set up the pre-season fixture and it did not disappoint fans of either side right to the final whistle.
Jellis, the former Kings Langley player, had been part of the Lambs double promotion winning squads until his move but had missed out on the celebrations at the end of 2023-24.
So it was only fitting he was rewarded with a presentation before kick-off and it was almost inevitable he would make an impact, marshalling his side around the familiar 3G surface in the first half.
