DANNY PAYNE joked that his Biggleswade Town side got a bit of a shock on Monday morning when they realised they were in the northern section of the FA Cup third round qualifying draw – and now the Step 4 outfit will be looking to spring another when they take on Solihull Moors.

Not that Waders boss Payne is underestimating the size of the challenge away at Andy Whing’s Moors, who beat Rochdale on Tuesday night to extend their unbeaten run to 14 games.

Payne, 33, says it will be an occasion for the whole Southern Division One Central club on Saturday after they followed up their second round qualifying upset of National League North Bishop’s Stortford with a 3-1 win over local league rivals Barton Rovers.

And Payne says the lowest-ranked outfit standing are going to make the most of the opportunity of being in the spotlight following Monday’s talkSPORT draw.

“We were messaging in our WhatsApp group and I had it on at work – it was a weird feeling,” Payne told The NLP. “Normally the draw gets made and it comes out with who you’ve got but when you’re listening to it live, it’s like ‘Is this happening?’
