Rovers’ Max Gnandi fired in a late goal that levelled the tie on aggregate to take the game to penalties.

And when he pushed away Worcester captain Chris Knight’s effort sudden death to seal a 5-4 shootout win, their Burroughs Park home erupted.

Marcus Bowers’ side will face a familiar foe next month in Essex Senior league rivals Romford – and the boss couldn’t quite believe his eyes.

“You only have to look at the pitch now, it’s unbelievable,” Bowers said.

“The lads are buzzing. I don’t think it will settle in now. What a feeling. I don’t think anyone is at home in Wakering because they’re all here. It was mobbed today – they were our 12th man, they got us over the line. It was massive.”
