TWO PRESENTS FOR DOROTHY

The Southern League Division One South outfit were favourites going into the tie against their Step 5 opponents, but were forced to work hard for victory.

In the end, though, it was Dorothy, on his 20th birthday, who made the difference.

Delighted Willand manager David Steele, who will take his side to Mousehole in the preliminary round, said: “It’s special when a player scores a brace on his birthday.”

Rovers made the early running as they probed for the opener and captain Owen Howe’s flick from a corner flew just wide.

However, the Devon side didn’t have to wait much longer to go ahead.
