As many as 1,000 law graduates have been left in a lurch after the Bar Council of Gujarat (BCG) did not grant them a Sanad. The Sanad is a mandatory certificate of practice that every lawyer needs if he/she wants to practice law.
The BCG did not grant these law graduates their Sanad as the LLB colleges from which they graduated were not recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Now, in a first, two graduating students have filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court in the matter.
