The City Police Chief GS Malik on Tuesday transferred an unprecedented 22 cops to the K Company at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Shahibaught in what is being seen as an attempt by the department to cleanse the force of allegedly corrupt and negligent officers. The K Company is considered a punishment posting, where personnel are assigned menial tasks, such as running errands under the direction of the DCP PHQ.
