Ahmedabad police have arrested two individuals in connection with a parcel bomb blast that injured two people near Chandkheda police station on Saturday. Among the accused is Rupen Rao (44), whose troubled marital history, self-taught bomb-making skills and his wife's provocative comments form the crux of this chilling crime.
Rupen, along with his accomplice Rohan Raval, were arrested on Sunday. On Saturday a parcel delivered by Gaurav Gadhvi to Baldev Sukhadia in Chandkheda exploded, injuring Sukhadia and his brother. Gadhvi was arrested on the spot, and his confession led authorities to Rupen and Rohan, who were intercepted driving a Creta car on IOC Road. The suspects resisted arrest by locking themselves in their vehicle and tried to intimidate police officers with two live bombs.
