The impact of the tension in the Middle East is being seen in the air traffic in Ahmedabad. According to sources, while there is little difference in incoming traffic at the city airport, the airlines are not getting enough passengers to fly to the Middle East countries. Akasa Air has cancelled all its departing flights to Jeddah till October 10 because of low passenger load, said a well-placed source from the airline. Meanwhile, three flights were cancelled on Wednesday, and around half a dozen others faced delays. Besides its Ahmedabad-Jeddah flight, Akasa Air also cancelled its Bengaluru-Ahmedabad flight, while SpiceJet cancelled its Delhi-Ahmedabad flight. Many passengers were stuck for hours with no alternative arrangements. In the domestic sector, seven Indigo flights faced delays ranging from 50 minutes to nearly three hours. Routes like Ahmedabad-Chennai, Ahmedabad-Lucknow, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Indore-Ahmedabad, Chennai-Ahmedabad and Pune-Ahmedabad were affected.
