The Gujarat government has made a big decision to resolve issues related to renewable energy (RE) in the state. State Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai said that henceforth small industries and MSME companies will be able to install solar parks, wind parks and hybrid (wind+solar) projects for captive use. <p>"Any developer in the state can develop a solar, wind or hybrid park. Also, they can sell or transfer the power or assets generated in the park to small and medium enterprises," said Desai. He added, "This decision will be an important step in reaching India's renewable energy capacity of 500 GW by 2030 and Gujarat's renewable energy capacity of 100 GW." </p><p>The minister further shared that with this decision, approximately 300 MW projects can be commissioned and in further four years 2 GW new projects will also be developed. It will create approximately one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities. </p>
