The rising number of road accidents by drunk drivers in Ahmedabad has become a major cause of concern, particularly for pedestrian safety. On Sunday night, two youths died when a drunk driver crashed his speeding Creta car into their Activa scooter on the Naroda-Dehgam road. The driver was identified as Mitesh alias Gopal Patel.
His car lost control, jumped over the road divider, and collided with the scooter. The scooter was being ridden by Vishal Rathod (26) and Amit Rathod (26), both residents of Vasna village near Dehgam. The two youths were returning home from work when they were hit. They sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
