<p>In order to develop the most important roads as high-speed corridors, the Gujarat government is focusing on the road infrastructure in the state. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned Rs 145 crore for the construction of a new four-lane major bridge on the Saraswati River in Sidhpur taluka on the Mehsana-Unjha-Siddpur-Palanpur State Highway. This bridge will enable the development of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana-Palanpur stretch as a high-speed corridor.</p><p>The existing two-lane bridge was built in 1959. The North Gujarat region will also get safe roads but also proper road infrastructure in future. "This new four-lane major bridge will be constructed on the right side of the old four-lane bridge corresponding to the six-lane road, instead of a narrow pool, to cater to the increased traffic," said officials.</p>
