The Khyati Hospital case investigation deepens as the health department replies to a 29-point query from the city crime branch. Sources suggest possible involvement of health department officials in wrongly reimbursing angioplasty costs under the PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) scheme. Evidence indicates the accused misused an "emergency tick" on reimbursement forms. Interviews with officials responsible for approving PMJAY claims will determine if this was done in collusion with the health department. The crime branch has summoned four health officials for questioning on Friday.
The city crime branch has started legal action to seize property and freeze bank accounts of the accused. Initial findings suggest the funds involved could be proceeds of crime. On Thursday, the crime branch reconstructed the entire incident, from the medical camp at Borisana village near Kadi to the events at Khyati.
