Rocketing airfares are the norm every Diwali as travellers set about on vacation. But this year, domestic and international sector flights are witnessing an unusual trend—a drop in passenger numbers by 20 per cent. This has led to low passenger turnout at the city airport and resulted in last-minute flight bookings being available at routine prices, particularly for places like Mumbai and Goa.
