A whopping 81.5% of the e-challans issued for traffic violations in the first six months of 2024 remain unpaid in Ahmedabad. According to data provided by city traffic police, 3,99,988 e-challans were issued for traffic violations from January to June 2024 of which a mere 74,094 (18.5%) were paid while 3,25,894 (81.5%) remain unpaid.
In the six months of 2024, the e-challans issued were to net the state exchequer Rs 41,36,66,650 in fines of which Rs34,86,30,650 are yet to be paid by violators.
