Guj Congress Fondly Remembers Manmohan Singh, 'Messiah of Poor'

Known for his polite demeanour and firm leadership, late former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had contributed significantly to Gujarat's growth through timely policies and special packages, stated Congress leaders on Friday.

Leaders who worked with him on his Union Cabinet and various All India Congress Committee (AICC) assignments from Gujarat recall him as a leader who listened to colleagues without arrogance or superiority.

Under his leadership, landmark schemes like MNREGA, Right to Education and Other Backward Class (OBC) quota were implemented, earning him the title 'messiah of the poor'.
