Gujarat is taking to the skies with plans to build six advanced heliports across the state, designed to rival Delhi’s Rohini Heliport in terms of technology and convenience. These heliports are envisioned to boost religious tourism, enhance disaster relief efforts, and streamline VVIP travel. The estimated cost for each heliport, spanning approximately nine acres, is projected to be between Rs 3 crore and Rs 4 crore.
Land acquisition
While land has been secured for a heliport from the Dwarka collector’s office, the search continues for suitable locations for the remaining five, including Ambaji, Somnath, Sasan Gir, Saputara, and Hansol near Ahmedabad airport.
