More than three years and six exams later, job aspirants in Gujarat are still waiting for recruitment. The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC), responsible for conducting these exams, has yet to clear results, hindering the state government’s recruitment efforts for class 1 and 2 positions. While some results have been challenged in the High Court, others have been delayed due to errors in answer keys or delays in conducting interviews.
The recent exams for drug inspector positions, a class 2 post, are a prime example of the ongoing issues. Over 40,000 candidates vied for 34 posts, with the exams held on a Sunday and answer keys published the following Thursday. However, an error in the answer key, where a question was asked but the answer key provided was for a different question, has once again dashed the hopes of thousands.
It has been over three years since any recruitment has taken place, despite the GPSC conducting numerous exams. The commission is no stranger to controversy.
