Illegal drug-making units on ATS radar

Agency writes to GIDGs, industrial estates to keep an eye on such units

Following a series of seizures of synthetic drugs from various factories and temporary sheds located near different GIDCs in central and South Gujarat, Gujarat ATS has written to GIDCs and other industrial estates to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Several such factories are on the ATS’s radar for either manufacturing synthetic drugs or supplying raw materials for Mephedrone production.

Most recently, on August 5 and 6, Gujarat ATS raided two factories: one in Maharashtra and another named Alliance Pharma Company at Jolva in Dahej.
