INDIAN JUGGERNAUT CONTINUES

The South Africans were blown away by 243 runs on a tricky Eden Gardens pitch on Sunday in Kolkata as the Indian juggernaut continued.

Ever dependable Virat Kohli (101 not out, 121 balls, Fours 10) played circumspectly to ensure that India scored above par (326 for 5) to challenge the 'toughest team' in the competition.

Kohli's partnership (134 runs, 164 balls) with Shreyas Iyer (77, 87 balls, Fours 7, Sixes 2) was the cornerstone of the massive Indian victory.

Before they came together, Rohit Sharma (40, 24 balls, Sixes 6, Fours 2) gave the Indian innings a rollicking start with Shubman Gill (23, 24 balls, Fours 4, Six 1).

Rohit targeted the most successful left-arm South African seamer, Marco Jansen, by taking him to the cleaners and threw him so much off balance that he ended up conceding 94 runs.
