A city resident lost a legal battle against Hindustan Unilever (HUL) after the state's Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (CDRC) dismissed his case demanding compensation and the withdrawal of the Fair & Lovely fairness cream. The man purchased the cream in 2013 and claimed it failed to deliver on the company's promises. He was also prepared to accept the company's challenge, which offered Rs 5 crore if a better fairness cream could be found.
