Justice Mauna Bhatt of the Gujarat High Court on Tuesday allowed a petition filed by Gopinath Apartment Co-op Housing Society and ordered 11 members to evict their flats to carry out redevelopment work.

The society had carried out a resolution for redevelopment with 95% of its members consenting to the same.

The HC was hearing a petition filed by the Vasana-based society which was built in 1973 and has 54 flat owners.

In 2018, the society passed a resolution to constitute a 15-member committee to carry out redevelopment work.

Later, the society selected Riyana Developers for the same and passed a resolution in this regard by 2022.

However, 11 members did not agree to the same.
