So now we have Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "friend" Donald Trump storming back as the 47th President of the United States of America. Their friendship flourished during his last presidency from 2016 to 2020.
Between Kamala Harris and Trump, our PM would have definitely preferred the latter, given their chemistry and open fondness for each other. They had two mammoth events together-the famous 'Howdy Modi' bash in Houston and the 'Namaste Trump' show at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad.
The camaraderie between the leaders of two democracies-one the largest and the other the oldest is quite evident. But the grey areas must not be discounted.
