The boys' hostel of NHL Medical College, located in Paldi, has been in a neglected state since its closure in 2019, according to Shehzad Khan Pathan, Opposition leader of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The party has criticised the AMC's move to construct new hostel for medical students at the Sabarmati Riverfront while the existing ones in Paldi and Ashram Road areas have not been renovated for years. It has termed the move a waste of money.
