The Gujarat Education Department's ambitious project to establish eight state-of-the-art Centres of Excellence (CoEs) has encountered a setback due to limited industry interest. While the initiative aimed to provide cutting-edge exposure to engineering students in government colleges through industry partnerships, the initial tender process did not attract sufficient participation.

The project envisioned eight CoEs across various sectors, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Semiconductor Design and Advanced Verification, Electric Vehicles, Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics, Drone Technology, Computation and Advanced Software (including Cloud Services), Coding, and Cyber-Physical Systems.
