The incident occurred when Lilaram Choudhary, who runs a cutlery shop in Chennai, was traveling from Chennai to his hometown.He alighted at the Ahmedabad Railway Station and took a shared auto to Sabarmati Railway Station. The other passengers in the auto stole Choudhary's phone which was kept in a cover. Choudhary had also kept his two ATM cards inside the cover, and had written the PIN numbers on them.Choudhary came to know of the theft when he was about to board a train to Rajasthan. By then, thieves had already withdrawn cash from an ATM and purchased jewellery worth Rs 2.90 lakh. Choudhary has filed a complaint with the Sabarmati Police Station. The authorities are investigating the matter.
