Municipal commissioners, as the head of the corporation, have the power to delegate work, but that does not absolve them from the duty of supervision, the Gujarat High Court observed on Monday after the report of the fact-finding committee on the TRP Game Zone fi re in Rajkot that killed more than 30 persons in May this year was presented before it.
A municipal commissioner is required to keep a check and control over any lapses by subordinates by taking review meetings of the works undertaken by them, the court observed.
