On October 1, young women staying as paying guests in Shivranjani Society were allegedly harassed, manhandled and assaulted by society residents over the issue of parking of vehicles. This comes amidst the larger backdrop of homeowners advocating the evacuation of all rented spaces in the vicinity. While the PG tenants have their demands of individual rights, the homeowners also have their perceptions of a peaceful residential neighbourhood. And the tensions are devolving into an 'insiders' vs 'outsiders' battle.
However, it is clear from both the comments of PG tenants, and that of homeowners that the PG property managers, who should have taken lead in solving these issues, are negligent. While the society claims they had served notices to PG tenants, the tenants say they haven't received any.
