The Gujarat government was forced to partially rollback fee hike for MBBS courses in 13 colleges, under the state-run Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS), following a massive uproar against the fee hike.
The decision to withdraw the fee hike was announced after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
On June 28, the government had announced an increase in the fees of the MBBS course of up to 87 per cent.
