#AHMEDABAD: The state government has approved the application to attach the property of former Chief Town Planning Officer Mansukh Sagathia, who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with the tragic fire at the Rajkot TRP Game Zone in May 2024. The fire killed 27 people including women and children.Sagathia was arrested by the ACB for corruption, and the state has now approved the ACB's application to attach his property worth Rs 23,15,48,256. ACB sources said that during his tenure as the Chief Town Planning Officer of Rajkot, Sagathia misused his position to amass property through illegal means. He invested the ill-gotten money in both fixed and movable assets. "Sagathia earned Rs 3,86,85,647 through legal means, but he acquired fixed and movable assets in the name of his relatives worth Rs 28,17,93,981. As a result, Sagathia amassed a total of Rs 24,31,08,334 through illegal and corrupt practices," said an ACB source.The ACB had requested the state home department to approve the attachment of Sagathia's property, which has now been granted. The ACB will soon move the court under Section 3(1) of the Criminal Law Amendment Act to formally attach Sagathia's property.
