Students and teachers turn their 'Shraddha Yatra' into 'Shodh Yatra'

25 students, 10 teachers visit 61 villages along Ambaji Temple route and learn about their geography, history, agricultural science, village culture and religion in depth

About 25 students and 10 teachers of a school near Adalaj decided to make the most of the Bhadarvi Poonam festivities, and embarked on a 'Shraddha Yatra' on their cycles -- from their school Shardul Anveshika Gurukul to Ambaji Temple.

The group visited 61 villages along the route, met locals and learned about their agriculture, lifestyle, culture, temples and water bodies in the villages and completed the 180-km yatra in eight days. This perhaps is the first of its kind of Yatra by school children who are in the age-group of 8-10 years.
