Wave the happy goodbye

The process of dropping off your little ones to school in their first few days or weeks can be made memorable instead of anxious, fun-filled rather than tear-filled

Wave the happy goodbye

Scenario 1

It's your baby's first day/week at school and she's crying inconsolably. Your loving words are unable to keep her calm and she simply doesn't want to let go of you. Because of those incessant tears, you do not want to leave her either, but realise that you must. The teacher/school staff promises they will look after her and that she will be fine in a while. You try saying goodbye and give her a tight hug and kiss before moving away and what do you see? That she begins howling like you have never seen her do.

Scenario 2

You have come to drop your little one off to school and it's just the beginning of many years of schooling. He's sad, doesn't want you to leave him in school and begins to cry. You keep a brave front and assure him that the day will be great and that once he's back home, you both will enjoy talking about all that happened at school. As you leave his hand and say goodbye, your heart wishes you didn't have to experience this moment. You say goodbye and leave but your mind is wandering in school... what would he be doing, hope he isn't crying...you wish you could be right next to him.
