Alcaraz closes on his dream Spanish double

CARLOS ALCARAZ is seeking a "perfect" Spanish Sunday by beating Novak Djokovic to retain his Wimbledon crowd and then cheering on Spain to win the Euros.

The Real Madrid fan will send his best wishes to captain Alvaro Morata and the team before the final with England.

The French Open champion overcame a nervous start to silence potty-mouthed Daniil Medvedev 6-7 6-3 6-4 6-4 in a repeat of last year's semi-final.

The 21-year-old world No.3 has won his first three Grand Slam finals, including defeating Djokovic in a five-set epic at SW19 last year.

Spain have won their last three major finals in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

Alcaraz said: "It would be a perfect Sunday if we win both.
