The Kufadza squad have dismantled the killers' camps, recovered firearms and confiscated illicit bushmeat in the three years since they were founded.
At the same time they have battled archaic thinking that women are not up to the job of Rabson Tembo, the boss Conservation Lower Zambezi, said: "The biggest stereotype we have had to overcome is the notion that women cannot be a scout.
"Kufadza has shown that it is possible for women to enter wildlife protection, we are debunking that stereotype and removing hurdles for other women."
CLZ launched Kufadza, an allfemale community scout unit in Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park, in 2021.
