Zach Michaels, 15, was riding home from his gran's house.

His mother Maria Michaels, 43, claimed the car was going at 70mph and said Zach was left in a "heap" on the ground.

Maria, a nurse from Liverpool, said: "Zach is an amazingly brave boy. It's going to be a really long time before he'll be discharged from hospital.
