Iraqi-Kurdish gangs control most of the beaches and camps in northern France, meaning officials want to ramp up National Crime Agency operations in smugglers' home towns.
They control operations from Calais to Dunkirk, with territory split up according to where the criminals are from, such as Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Ranya and Sharazoor.
Yesterday, Home announced a further 100 intelligence and investigation officers will also be recruited by the National Crime Agency to hunt the smugglers.
